Crayford Baptist Church

... for you are all one in Christ Jesus - Galatians 3:28

About Us

Dedication TobeyCrayford Baptist Church is in the South East Thames region of the London Baptist Association. We have been a Christian witness in Crayford since 1810. Our present church building was erected in 1866 and has been altered to provide access for wheelchairs and improved facilities. As it lies in a conservation area there are restrictions on altering the exterior. However, it was refurbished internally in 2016 to provide an attractive worship area that can be used in various ways throughout the week.

Crayford is in the London Borough of Bexley, adjoined to the east by Dartford in Kent and to the west by Bexleyheath, both larger shopping centres. Crayford town centre is small by comparison with fewer shops and no bank for the past few years.

Church 2020Crayford Baptist Church is situated just outside the town centre and is close to major bus routes and half a mile from the train station. Several churches join to make up Churches Together in Crayford (CTiC): two RCCG churches (Redeemed Christian Church of God), one which meets in a former bank building and another in the town library; St Mary's Roman Catholic Church; St Paulinus, an Anglican Church at the top of the High Street overlooking the town, and a Pentecostal church, Acts2, which meets in a local secondary school. (A former Methodist church closed more than a decade ago and has been converted into a mosque.)

We work with other churches in the London borough of Bexley which combine as Transform Bexley Borough (TBB). Together TBB churches run food banks, Christians Against Poverty (CAP), Street Pastors and a winter night shelter. We give support to TBB ventures as and when we can, mainly the Bexley Foodbank which we collect for each Sunday; and we are currently investigating more active involvement in the winter night shelter. Before Covid-19 restrictions, our usual main services were on Sundays at 10.30am and 6.30pm. For more information, click here.

We are a diverse and welcoming community of believers in Jesus Christ. Whether it is the first time you have ever stepped into a church, or perhaps you are entering church after a break for a while, or you are just in the area, you will receive a warm welcome here.
